Donald W. Lewis, age 99, of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday evening, April 16, 2024, at Otterbein SeniorLife Marblehead in the loving embrace and care of his family.
He was born February 8, 1925, in Beaverdam, OH, and graduated from Lima Shawnee High School. Donald proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, stationed at Vero Beach, Florida, and retired from a successful career with American Electric Power. Following retirement, Don and his wife Jean Ann spent 6 months each year traveling in their motorhome throughout the Gulf Coast states. After many years traveling, they enjoyed their summers in their Sandusky home and winter months in their condo in Bradenton, Florida. Don loved traveling, winters in Florida, The Ohio State University Buckeyes, and most of all, time with family.
He is survived by his daughters Pamela Lewis (Brad Wentz), and Shari (Raymond) Greene; grandchildren Eric Ujvari (Lauren), Nicholas Ujvari, and Meredith Britton (Corey), Michelle Kelley (Ryan), Laura Wilbur; great grandchildren Rex, Leo, and Polly Ujvari; Emery and Kallie Britton; Timothy and Carter Kelley; Austin Schaeffer, Brynlee and Gatlin Wilbur; brothers John Lewis and Bill Lewis, sisters Jeanette Mathew and Diane Anderson. Donald was preceded in death by his wife Jean Ann (Brinkmeyer) Lewis; parents Dale and Gertrude (Keiffer) Lewis; sister Lavaun Counts and brother Steve Lewis.
Private family services will be held at later date. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
